GTPAL
Gravida (total pregnancies), Term (≥37 weeks), Preterm (20 to 36 6/7 weeks), Abortions (before 20 weeks), Living. Example: A woman pregnant now (previously had 1 term birth and 1 miscarriage) is G3 T1 P0 A1 L1.
Clinical Significance
Obstetric history guides risk stratification for current pregnancy. Prior preterm birth increases preterm risk; multiple cesarean sections increase placenta previa/accreta risk.
