The NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (NCJMM) is the six-step cognitive framework used to measure clinical judgment on the Next-Generation NCLEX. Every NGN item maps to one of its steps.

The Six Steps

  1. Recognize Cues: Identify relevant data.
  2. Analyze Cues: Interpret significance of data.
  3. Prioritize Hypotheses: Rank likely problems by urgency.
  4. Generate Solutions: Identify possible actions.
  5. Take Action: Implement chosen intervention.
  6. Evaluate Outcomes: Assess response and adjust.
